Early Years Foundation

EYFS-7 areas.jpeg

At  Little Stars we follow the statutory Early Years Foundation Stage, which allows children to learn through play, actively and creatively exploring the world around them and developing new ideas and skills.

We carefully monitor the children’s development and progress across all areas, but most importantly we ensure the levels of well-being.

Children’s achievements are captured weekly through the children’s learning journey and these are shared with you on a termly basis and at parent’s open day events.

Applications and waiting List

You will need to complete a registration form accessed via the link  and if a place is not currently available you will be placed on our waiting list. This list is maintained at all times and applicants placed in order of their application submission.

Fees

Regrettably for the first time in 3 years we have had to raise our fees to £21.00 per session payable half-termly / termly in advance and please note fees will continue to be payable if a child is absent without notice or for a short time. This includes a healthy option snack mornings and afternoons.

We now offer the service for your child to stay all day to include a chargeable lunchtime period of 45 minute at a cost of £5.25, you must provide your own child's packed lunch. This will not be charged if it is included in your 15 or 30-hour entitlement. Please also refer to our healthy eating policy on our Parent Information page on lunches.

In cases of prolonged absence, parents should consult the management about fee payment. Each child’s attendance at the group is conditional upon continued payment of any necessary fees.

The term after their second birthday, some parents will be eligible for the "Working Parents Entitlement" or the Play 2 Learn funding. This is 15 hours free funding. Once your child is 3 they could be eligible for the 30 hours entitlement which we will do our best to accommodate. This will be funded by the DFE. We also accept the childcare tax voucher scheme.

Please click the link below to HMRC explaining the funding process and criteria.

Childrens Safety

We always take seriously your childs safety whilst in our care. Please refer to our policy document below on this.

Pre School Policies

We follow the guidelines provided by Bexley, Ofsted and the EYFS. To view some of our policies, please enter the link.

During a parents visit and on joining us we will hand you a copy of our comprehensive Policies document so that you fully understand our aims, intentions and how we consider the well being and education of your child(ren).

SEND (Special Educational Needs )

Our nursery recognises that there are children who may require special educational needs provision whilst attending the nursery, due to learning, behavioural, emotional, social, physical, sensory or medical factors. We recognise that all children should be provided with a stable, secure learning environment. With this we are fully aware that learning resources and the nursery learning environment may need to be adapted to enable a child to reach their full potential.
